House Rules
Rules
Some easy rules for your comfort:
1. Sheets must be maintained for at least 5 days or we must charge for early replacements.
2. Bring your own towel.
3. When you return from the beach, you must hose the sand off of yourself before showering, as the sand will clog the sewer lines. Hoses are located at all ground level entrances.
4. Please do not burn candles or incense in hostel. This is a fire hazard.
5. Smoking must be done in parking area or along the lagoon, outside of hostel.
6. During the day, please keep your belongings on your bed and close your curtains, so the rooms look tidy, so that we may all experience a pleasing visual environment conducive to the lush tropical ocean views.
7. When you use the kitchen or showers please clean up after yourself very well, for the next person’s right to cleanliness and sanitation. Our fee for lodging does not include frequent cleanups during the day as an expensive hotel affords you.
8. Please remove your shoes or slippers before going onto any carpets or into the sleeping rooms as this is a part of the Hawaiian Culture.
9. We collect the fees for lodging in advance in cash or traveler’s checks only. Once you have arrived we will continue your reservations only for the nights you pre-pay after your arrival. We receive Email and phone reservations everyday from people who are already on the island or are
arriving from another island within the hour and any accommodation not paid for in advance would be given to another traveler.
10. Check out time is 10:00 a.m. However, you do not need to leave The Kauai BeachHouse right away. We will just need to clean all the sheets and bed area to have it ready for other check-ins. If you have a late flight, arrangements can be made for a later shower at a $5 fee ( Kauai has the second highest utility rates in the US, so unfortunately we must charge).
11. Please keep your food in the kitchen area.
12. If you rent anything from us you are responsible for bringing it back in the same condition or will pay for its replacement or repair to pre-damaged condition.
13. Rowdy-ness, rude-ness, drunken-ness, drugs or any disruptive behavior will result in appropriate action on our part along the lines of cancelling a reservation or even calling the police. No illegal drugs are allowed on the premises. On this island, drug paraphernalia, (even cigarette papers), is a mandatory 5 years in prison, and we won’t tolerate it either. At The Kapa’a BeachHouse, Paradise is all you need.
14. Please do not hang anything to dry on any railings. We have a designated clothes drying area on ground level.
15. Please do not sit on any railing or on the bathroom sinks. It is dangerous and can also cause damage.
